We work with people who have been impacted by domestic abuse.

This includes those who grew up in a household with domestic abuse, those who have been in abusive relationships, those who have been abused by a family member or have found themselves in a supporting role either as a professional or a friend or colleague.

We love watching people flourish and grow when they start to believe in themselves.

In Devon

  • It is estimated the 35,000 people are victims of domestic abuse yearly (based on crime survey and census data)
  • 84% of referrals to the domestic abuse support service are for women. Nationally, 74% of victims of domestic abuse-related crimes are women.
  • One in five of all crimes recorded is linked to domestic abuse (over 22,000 crimes annually), however, most abuse is non-physical and most abuse is never reported.

These experiences not only touch the life of the person directly affected, but they impact on their family, friends, and communities. Family, friends, and communities play a key role in challenging these behaviours.

Hi, I'm Jeanette, Founding Director of More Positive Me CIC. The team's passion is to empower people to move forward with their lives after domestic abuse. Domestic abuse does not define you, it is something that happens to you. We use our lived experience to empower others when they feel exhausted, drained and traumatised. Giving them hope for a future free from the cycle of abuse.

Every project we take on is embraced wholeheartedly, and with total dedication. Whether we’re writing books and eCourses or delivering sessions, we invest our hearts and souls in ensuring that you feel empowered and believe in yourselves.

Our goal? To make sure that anyone impacted by domestic abuse finds the strength and skills within themselves to make positive change lead fulfilled lives.
